Product Review: Little Passports Monthly Subscription Box (World Edition)

little passports

Product Description: A monthly subscription box that promises to “Give your kids the world one month at a time.”  The first month’s Explorer Kit includes a small cardboard suitcase, a passport, a map and a letter from the traveling pen pals – Sam and Sofia. Each month thereafter a country specific package – in the form of a manila envelope – with a small souvenir, passport stickers, map sticker pins, activity pages, photos and another letter from Sam and Sofia.

Includes access to online games and activities. The World Edition is recommended for kids aged 5 – 10.

Cost: The monthly rate is USD$15.00 with tax and shipping. Different plans are available, details can be found on their website.

Can be purchased at http://www.littlepassports.com.

Pros:

  • Great for learning about new countries as well as geography.
  • Opportunity to keep learning during summer/winter breaks.
  • Kids are eager to get mail each month.
  • Comparatively cheap for a monthly subscription box.

Cons:

  • The souvenirs are small – but decent for subscription cost.
  • Only 23 countries are “visited.”

Recommendation: Yes, we would recommend this to a friend. We bought this as a birthday gift for our 7-year-old niece. We decided to go for the monthly plan since we weren’t sure how much she would like the subscription, and wanted to be able to cancel at any time rather than pay for the 12-month plan up front.  Turns out: She. Loves. It. And she is uber intrigued by the souvenirs, particularly the amethyst stone she received in her Brazil box (see picture above). So, we will be continuing the subscription until it runs out.

** Thank you Little Passports – who sent Jetlag & Juice boxes a 3-month World Edition subscription to review. They have also donated a 3 month subscription giveaway! (NOW CLOSED)
